Senior AI Engineer - Enterprise AI Solutions

Location: Chicago, IL or Houston, TX | Work Arrangement: Onsite

Ongoing Contract Role

POSITION SUMMARY

Engineers secure production-grade Generative AI solutions for enterprise and legal use cases. This is an AI engineering role focused on RAG, enterprise search, agents, APIs, identity, evaluation, and safeguards - not a pure data-science or prompt-engineering position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design secure RAG solutions using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure AI Search.

• Build ingestion, parsing, chunking, metadata, embedding, vector/hybrid search, and indexing pipelines.

• Develop Python services, REST APIs, and agent workflows using Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or similar frameworks.

• Enforce Entra ID/Managed Identity authorization and permission-aware retrieval so users access only authorized content.

• Create evaluation frameworks for grounding, relevance, quality, latency, and safety.

• Implement controls for hallucination, prompt injection, data leakage, content safety, logging, and production monitoring.

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure AI Search experience.

• Strong Python engineering and REST API development skills.

• Production experience with RAG, embeddings, vector/hybrid search, and enterprise retrieval.

• Experience building AI agents or multi-step AI workflows.

• Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or comparable orchestration experience.

• Entra ID, Managed Identity, RBAC, and Azure Key Vault experience.

• Understanding of AI security risks, authorization-aware retrieval, evaluation, and responsible AI controls.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Graph, Teams, or Copilot Studio integration experience.

• Experience with legal knowledge, document, or records-management content and confidentiality/privilege requirements.
