Job description


Position Description:
Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
Designs and develops applications using Java, SQL, and Angular. Tests and maintains application features using test automation frameworks and tools (Cucumber, Fitnesse, Selenium and TestNG). Builds, debugs, tests, and supports web applications. Delivers software applications and implements all aspects of software application design, development (including mobile), testing. Deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices (Jenkins, Jira, Eclipse, GIT, Stash, and Udeploy). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent including 3-year foreign degree) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software to support business solutions and reporting needs in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software to support business solutions and reporting needs in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") in technology modernization of post-trade financial services applications using Oracle, Java, Python, and Kibana.
  • DE developing capital markets product profitability metrics, using Oracle, Snowflake, Python, AWS, EC2, Terracore, Jenkins, and Github.
  • DE developing data warehouse solutions for financial services profitability metrics, using Oracle, Python, Informatica.
  • DE developing software applications for financial services industry using Actimize, Oracle, and Java, including capital markets, fixed income, foreign exchange, securities lending, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), regulatory reporting, profit & loss reporting, back-office accounting, and risk management reporting.
