Overview
Our client is seeking a senior-level Network Automation Engineer to join a team focused on transforming enterprise network security operations through automation. This is a highly technical, development-focused position where the primary objective is to automate Firewall, Proxy, and Network Access Control (NAC) infrastructure using modern software engineering practices.
This role is part of a dedicated automation initiative, with engineers focused on building scalable automation solutions that reduce manual operational effort and enable a fully automated Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architecture. The ideal candidate is a strong developer with deep expertise in Python, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitHub Actions, and enterprise network security technologies.
What You'll Do
  • Design and develop automation solutions for Firewall, Proxy, and NAC platforms
  • Build end-to-end Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) workflows for enterprise security infrastructure
  • Modernize VPN and Proxy environments into a unified ZTNA architecture
  • Automate Day 0, Day 1, and Day 2 operational processes
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions and CI/CD pipelines
  • Create stateful workflow orchestration using Temporal, ORCA, or similar technologies
  • Integrate Nautobot as the authoritative source of truth
  • Build reusable automation frameworks and deployment patterns
  • Implement Ansible-based operational automation and remediation
  • Expose services through APIs using Apigee
  • Develop observability and monitoring capabilities using Grafana and Prometheus

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of software development or automation engineering experience
  • Advanced Python development experience with a strong focus on automation
  • Experience building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipeline development
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible automation
  • Experience designing and implementing automated security controls and policy management
  • Experience working with enterprise Firewall and Proxy technologies
  • Ability to work independently and drive complex technical initiatives
