Title: Automation Test Engineer
Location: Ridley Park, PA/ Hazelwood, MO/ Plano, TX
Duration: 6+ Months
 
Digital Analytics and System Health software engineering team is seeking a talented Automation Test Engineer to join our fast-paced development environment in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, Hazelwood, Missouri, and Plano, Texas. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions to ensure software quality across our products, with a focus on supporting Global Services (BGS) digital and analytics government and military programs. You will work with product managers, engineers, and operations to build robust test frameworks, increase test coverage, and accelerate release velocity while ensuring quality, reliability, and scalability in cloud-based environments.

Position Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks across web, mobile, and API platforms.
• Build reusable test components and data-driven test suites
• Develop robust scripts to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Partner with product, engineering, and operations to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality targets aligned with product goals.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and ensure reliable test execution across containers, VMs, and cloud environments.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data with full traceability to requirements.
• Analyze test results, triage failures, and drive root-cause investigations to prevent recurrence.
• Report defects with clear reproduction steps and expected vs. actual outcomes; advocate timely resolution.
• Perform API testing (REST/GraphQL) to validate schemas, contracts, and error handling using appropriate tools.
• Contribute to performance and security testing where applicable (e.g., load testing, security assessments).
• Conduct code and test-design reviews through peer reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
• Participate in design discussions and quality gates, test readiness reviews, safety reviews, and test plan/case reviews.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on software test automation experience.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks using one or more testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium/WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong experience with API testing and tools (Postman, Newman, Swagger, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git) and related practices.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and testing concepts (risk-based testing, boundary testing, regression planning).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization (AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
• Knowledge of accessibility and security standards (e.g., OWASP) and related testing approaches.
• 1+ years of experience in the Aerospace industry
• Experience in government or military programs and regulatory/compliance familiarity.
• Automation testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus.
