Job description

Key Responsibilities:
Reference Architecture Engineering and Enablement

  • Implement and maintain reference implementations for web services, APIs, data pipelines, CMS platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Translate architecture standards into executable assets: starter repositories, reusable libraries, workflow templates, and deployment blueprints.
  • Create and maintain architectural decision records (ADRs), implementation guides, and runbooks that accelerate adoption.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure engineering patterns align with firm-wide principles and governance.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Lead and Senior Engineers, including design reviews and implementation coaching.

CI/CD and Release Engineering (P2P?RCM)

  • Engineer standardized GitHub Actions workflow templates and reusable workflows that encode enterprise best practices for build, test, security scanning, and release readiness.
  • Implement pipeline policy gates and evidence collection aligned to P2P?RCM requirements so releases are predictable and audit-ready.
  • Enable teams to onboard to P2P?RCM quickly by providing documentation, office hours, and hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Support applications using enterprise pipelines (EPLX/EPL) as well as teams operating without a standardized pipeline by delivering drop-in workflow components and integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with CDXO and release governance stakeholders to continuously improve release cargo packaging, promotion, and traceability practices.

DevSecOps and Compliance Automation

  • Integrate and operationalize security and quality scanning within CI workflows: static code analysis (Sonar), SAST (Checkmarx), SCA (Black Duck), secret scanning (GitHub Secret Scanning), and DAST (dynamic application security testing).
  • Design enforceable pipeline gates and automated reporting that prevent non-compliant builds from progressing while reducing manual review burden.
  • Engineer supply chain security patterns (dependency pinning, provenance, artifact signing/verification where applicable) and container security controls.
  • Automate vulnerability management workflows, including finding triage, remediation guidance, and verification in CI.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and GitOps patterns (e.g., Terraform/Ansible) that promote repeatability, compliance, and least privilege.

OpenShift Delivery Enablement (Harness CD)

  • Build and maintain standardized Harness CD pipeline modules for deployments to OpenShift (OCP), including progressive delivery, approvals, rollbacks, and environment promotion.
  • Define deployment traceability and audit-ready telemetry patterns that connect build artifacts, test evidence, security results, and deployment events.
  • Partner with Platform Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Security teams to ensure pipelines meet reliability and resiliency expectations.
  • Establish and document operational patterns for secrets management, configuration promotion, and incident response readiness.

Technical Leadership and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive adoption of engineering standards through reference code, internal enablement sessions, and measured improvements to developer experience.
  • Identify friction points in release governance and delivery workflows and deliver automation that removes toil and variability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and propose pragmatic improvements to tooling, workflows, and platform capabilities.
  • Represent the team in cross-organizational working groups and provide technical input to architecture forums.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python and demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering initiatives.
  • 10 plus years of building web applications and APIs using industry-standard frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask).
  • 8 plus years designing and implementing CI/CD automation and DevOps practices, including GitHub Actions and reusable workflow development.
  • Hands-on experience integrating security and quality scanning into CI/CD pipelines (Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck, GitHub Secret Scanning, and DAST) with enforceable policy gates.
  • 5 plus years of experience with cloud-native platforms and container orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes) including deployment automation.
  • Experience building or operating deployment automation to OpenShift using Harness CD (or equivalent), including promotion, approvals, and rollback strategies.
  • 5 plus years of DevSecOps or application security engineering experience, including compliance automation and vulnerability management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, security, platform, and governance stakeholders to deliver reusable standards and adoption outcomes.
  • Experience utilizing coding assistants (GitHub Copilot) and AI-powered development tools in a professional engineering environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 12 to 15 plus years of Python development with deep expertise in modern Python patterns, packaging, and test automation (Pytest).
  • Experience developing and maintaining Django-based platforms at enterprise scale; familiarity with Wagtail CMS and Wagtail CRX (CodeRed CMS).
  • Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes platform engineering and operational patterns (multi-tenant clusters, resource governance, observability).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices (Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD) and policy-as-code approaches.
  • Deep familiarity with branching strategies, repo governance, and release branching models for enterprise delivery.
  • Experience with SRE practices, observability platforms, and incident management workflows.
  • Familiarity with spec-driven development (e.g., GitHub Spec-Kit) and API-first design.

Additional:

  • Must have demonstrable prior experience with Open Source Contributions to Conda-Forge, Pixi Package Manager, Developing GitHub Actions and CI/CD Automation.
  • Steers platform engineering excellence - establish CI/CD patterns, IaC templates, and golden-path repos. Evangelizes DevSecOps, GitOps (EPLX) and DORA metrics
  • 10 plus years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python and lead complex engineering initiatives.
  • 10 plus years of building web applications and APIs using industry-standard frameworks (Django, FastAPI,)
