Job description

Job Title: Test Technician II
Department: Test
Responsibilities:
The Test Technician II performs environmental testing, destructive testing, and electronics testing in a laboratory environment in accordance with written procedures such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) or Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs). This role supports design verification and acceptance testing of pyrotechnic and electronic products.
This role will initially focus heavily on destructive testing and hands-on lab work, with opportunities to expand into environmental and dynamics testing over time.
- Perform destructive testing, functional testing, and electrical testing in a lab environment
- Conduct testing in accordance with written procedures (ATPs/QTPs)
- Interpret dimensional drawings and perform test setups
- Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and environmental chambers
- Perform routine daily equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
- Load and program environmental chambers (as experience develops)
- Troubleshoot, calibrate (daily checks), and adjust test equipment
- Correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts
- Use small hand tools and testing devices
- Participate in process improvement and 5S
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience with oscilloscopes and multimeters is helpful but not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience preferred
- Aerospace/defense experience preferred but not required
- Ability to read drawings and follow procedures
- Basic computer skills required
- Energetics/explosives experience highly valued
Candidates must demonstrate willingness to learn, reliability, and adaptability.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate's or military experience preferred
Working Conditions:
- Lab environment with PPE
- Standing 8-9 hours per day
- Lifting up to 30 lbs occasionally
- Hands-on work and occasional outdoor testing
Work Schedule:
- 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs)
- Overtime Fridays common (45-50 hrs/week typical)
