Position Summary
Provide on-site Heat Treatment services for weld preparation and post weld heat treatment

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
   Coordinate pre and PWHT activities and provide required pre and PWHT documentation.Â
   Assist in the development of preheat and PWHT plans for the project.
   Communicate safety issuesÂ
   Attach heaters to piping, thermocouple operation, color-code conductors and connect conductorsÂ
   Placement of thermocouple for correct heater zone control for both preheat and post weld heat-treatmentÂ
   Execute on the rules for gradient insulation and how much insulation is requiredÂ
   Connect heaters and thermocouples to heat-treating consoleÂ
   Set up and operate the heat-treating console, programmer, controllers and recorder
   Read recorder strip charts to determine temperatures, soak time, rise and fall ratesÂ
   Trouble-shoot preheat and PWHT and document any work performed
   Perform end of shift walk downs of all pre and PWHT operationsÂ
   Maintain pre and PWHT equipment and report needed calibrations and equipment repairsÂ
   May be asked to assist in training and supervising Heat Treat Jr. Techs
Qualifications
 Experience as a Post Weld Heat Treat Tech 2 in a Power Plant / Industrial setting
 Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
 Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
 Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
Requirements
The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site,Â
 so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoorÂ
 weather conditions
Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to accessÂ
 required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb andÂ
 maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds acrossÂ
 construction/industrial site
Must have required tools
May require U.S. Driver License
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
Ability to pass fit for duty testing
