Overview

Position Title: Systems Engineer: Watch Floor Operations - Rotating Shift (PRIME Contract)

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Reports To: Technical Task Lead

Job Type: Full-time

Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with polygraph is required for consideration, U.S. citizenship is required

Summary:

Seeking versatile individuals that would also be interested in discovering the area they would like to master. Be a part of an existing capability and monitoring watch floor across all organizations, leading to new requirements and opportunities for growth.

Looking for individuals who like understanding how things work and the ins/outs and dependencies for successful operations to initially get a foot deep and a mile wide on the services our program supports to most effectively troubleshoot. No one wants to be bored. Learn about program technologies and identify areas of interest to support ongoing team tasking or take on backlog activities in a development environment to further your knowledge and skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • First line of defense to support the investigation and resolution of user issues through
      • Effective use of troubleshooting resources, 
      • Liaising with other watch floor teammates to pinpoint overlap/dependencies
      • Collaborating with development team members to secure resolution as needed
    • Develop SOPs across the Org


    Qualifications

    Education: 

    • Bachelor of Science degree  in a technical or related discipline. 
    • 5 years' of additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

    Experience:

    • Seven (7) years' experience in engineering supporting programs or contracts of similar scope or complexity is required.

    Skills:

    • Familiarity with dashboard technologies such as Splunk, Grafana.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to collaborate with others to determine root cause.
    • Foundational understanding of system architecture and both physical and virtualized environments.
    • Strong communication and requirements solicitation skills. Translate from technical development teams to end user customers and vice versa in capturing meaningful metrics and monitoring baselines and helping lead adaptations to those baselines over time to best meet customer needs.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Provides 365 days, 7 days a week watch floor operations support, broken into 2 x 12 hour shifts (Days: 0500-1700; Mids: 1700-0500) with 28 break days per quarter and 2 weeks of normal M-F business hours support.
    • Standard office environment with occasional requirements to visit client sites, labs, or field environments.
