Build the supplier partnerships and sourcing strategies that keep POLYWOOD manufacturing moving forward.

About POLYWOOD
POLYWOOD is changing what it means to own outdoor furniture. For 35 years, we've built iconic outdoor furniture from recycled HDPE lumber, designed to outlast weather, kids, and trends. We're a vertically integrated American manufacturer with a brand that's growing into something bigger: the outdoor home. As we scale into the next era of brand-led growth, we're building teams that strengthen the supplier partnerships, materials, and purchasing discipline behind our continued success

About the Role
POLYWOOD is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing operations for our growing manufacturing organization. This role will guide a team of purchasing professionals while building sourcing strategies that support quality, service, inventory, cost, and long-term growth. The ideal candidate combines big-picture strategy with hands-on execution. You'll negotiate supplier agreements, improve cost performance, strengthen purchasing processes, and remain closely connected to production needs and day-to-day operations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of purchasing professionals, establishing clear expectations and accountability.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, fasteners, and other production-critical categories.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership, including quality, lead time, inventory, freight, supplier risk, and production continuity.
  • Identify and deliver cost reductions without compromising quality, service, or operational performance.
  • Improve supplier performance, accountability, and risk management.
  • Support new product introductions and changing manufacturing priorities.
  • Strengthen purchasing processes, systems, reporting, and team execution.
  • Balance long-term sourcing strategy with the daily material needs of a manufacturing operation.

What You Bring

  • 8-12+ years of experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
  • 5+ years of experience leading purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain teams.
  • Purchasing or sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing raw materials.
  • Experience managing domestic and international supplier relationships.
  • Strong contract negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
  • A practical, business-minded leadership style with the ability to move between strategy and execution.
  • The ability to set clear expectations, coach others, and build accountability through collaboration.
  • Bonus: Experience sourcing from Asia.
  • Bonus: Experience with fasteners, resins, polymers, chemicals, metals, engineered materials, or similar manufacturing inputs.

Why This Role Matters
This is a leadership role with meaningful business impact. You'll help shape supplier strategy, support manufacturing performance, develop people, deliver measurable savings, and strengthen the purchasing foundation behind a growing POLYWOOD brand.

If this sounds like the kind of impact you want to make, we invite you to apply.
