We develop and deliver products that span fluid distributive systems, electromechanical actuation, gear boxes and other complex mechanisms for the defense industry. Our team is comprised of professionals that serve a greater purpose that supports those who serve. We are looking for a professional that shares that mission. As a Purchasing Agent, this professional will be responsible to source and manage procured material, coordinate outside processing, and manage inventory that supports our operational requirements. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for Purchasing, Negotiating Cost and Leadtime, Inventory Control, Part Information within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Manage Supplier Relationships, and support quoting for customer proposals.
Responsibilities for the Purchasing Agent:
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Research potential suppliers and compare metrics of price, delivery, etc.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Update internal databases (Shoptech E2) with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
  • Evaluate quotes from suppliers and negotiate fair pricing
  • Work closely with relevant departments to ensure products purchased are in line with the needs of our customers
  • Maintain updated records of Purchase Orders, Quotes, etc.
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition with required documentation
  • Support quoting efforts for prototype material and production pricing
Qualifications of the Purchasing Agent:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but relevant professional experience will be considered
  • Experience working in a related field preferred but relevant professional experience will be considered
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative and professional demeanor
  • Flexible to travel to meet with suppliers, distributors and manufacturers as required
  • Able to lift, carry and move a minimum of 25lbs
