Job description

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Procurement Buyer/Planner! As a Buyer/Planner, you will be responsible for supplier selection, negotiation, purchase order management, materials management, and supplier relationship management. Your role is vital in maintaining accurate information, supporting efficient communication, and contributing to the overall success of our company's procurement processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential solar equipment and components suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and determine optimal sourcing strategies.
  • Execute the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, order management/fulfillment, invoice and month-end reconciliation, and contract management.
  • Monitor supplier performance, maintain strong supplier relationships, and address any issues that arise.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders per project schedules and budgetary constraints.
  • Support the management and optimization of Ion’s part/product master and its associated attributes for downstream systems/processes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any order discrepancies or issues that may arise and support their resolution promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement-related documentation.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for value engineering.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support building procurement processes and resolution of procurement related issues through collaboration with vendors and field teams.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and sourcing principles and processes.
  • Passion for the solar industry and a desire to contribute to sustainable energy solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) 
  • Experience with Fishbowl Advanced Inventory or other procurement/ERP systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
