Job Summaryย 

The Purchasing Agentย is responsible forย procuringย materials, components, equipment, and services to support production and business operations at our Mills, WY office. This position works closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensureย timelyย delivery, cost-effective purchasing, andย accurateย inventory management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment whileย maintainingย a high levelย of accuracy.ย 

  • Source andย procureย materials, components, equipment, and services to support production schedules and business operations.ย 
  • Prepare, issue, and track Purchaseย Orders to ensureย timelyย delivery of goods and services.ย 
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and order status.ย 
  • Build andย maintainย positive working relationships with suppliers to support quality, cost, and deliveryย objectives.ย 
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages while minimizing excess inventory, working withย theย Spare Part Coordinator.ย 
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure purchasing activities align with operational needs.ย 
  • Resolveย purchasingย discrepancies, invoice issues, shipping delays, and supplier concernsย in a timely manner.ย 
  • Maintainย accurateย purchasing records and vendor information within the ERP system.ย 
  • Assistย in obtaining competitive quotes and evaluating suppliers for quality, pricing, and service.ย 
  • Support inventory counts, receiving activities, and material reconciliation as needed.ย 
  • Identifyย opportunities to improve purchasing processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.ย 
  • Abide by all policies and proceduresย establishedย by DISA.ย 
  • Attend andย participateย in all required safetyย training courses.ย 
  • Assistย with any task required by the direct supervisor.ย 

Requirements

Education/Experienceย 

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.ย 
  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred.ย 
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience preferred).ย 
  • Manufacturing or industrial purchasing experience is a plus.ย 
  • Required Skillsย 
    • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.ย 
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.ย 
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.ย 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.ย
