Job description

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist – Direct Materials for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Plymouth, MN. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:

  • Pay: $33 – 36/hr (W2)
  • 1-year assignment with potential to extend or convert based on performance and business need
  • Hybrid role in Plymouth, MN – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
  • You will be responsible for purchasing and managing direct materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors
  • Manage purchase orders, purchase requisitions, pricing, quantities, lead times, and inventory requirements
  • Use SAP/ERP systems to create and update POs, maintain material/master data, and provide inventory visibility
  • Review pricing and lead times and address invoice discrepancies
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with suppliers to maintain target inventory levels
  • Support purchasing of production materials including raw materials, electronics, plastic tubing, labels, and other manufacturing components
  • May assist with pricing negotiations, but the primary focus is PO management, execution, and supplier coordination


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of direct materials purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma acceptable with 5+ years of relevant purchasing experience
  • Hands-on SAP/ERP experience required
  • Experience managing purchase orders, material/master data, quantities, pricing, lead times, inventory, and invoice discrepancies
  • Supply chain and supplier management experience
  • Experience purchasing production materials such as medical-device components, catheter components, extrusions/tubing, molded plastic components, electronic/electromechanical components, PCBs/PCBAs, sensors, connectors, cables/wire harnesses, machined components, adhesives, packaging, or labels
  • Strong MS Office skills required
