Job description

Inspector - 1 year renewable contract position

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. 5+ years Quality Assurance experience in a Receiving Inspection environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints. Good understanding of AS9100 standard and support with internal & external audits as required. Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers). High level of accuracy in identifying defects and maintaining records. Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspects purchased parts & materials for conformance to specifications. Examines electronic components like bare boards, COTS items and, items fabricated to inhouse drawings for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications

Reviews supplier certifications, packing slips test reports to ensure compliance with flow down requirements. Identify, label, and document defective, damaged, or non-conforming materials. Provide direct Quality Assurance ownership and oversite of Receiving Inspection labs. Participate in regular MRBs (material review board) to ensure nonconforming material/process is appropriately handled.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

Previous work experience in Aerospace, NASA and/or FAA programs. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Ability to tailor level of effort based on customer requirements and expectations. Works independently with limited supervision.
