The Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations by coordinating production schedules, purchasing activities, inventory management, and vendor relationships. This position serves as a central point of contact between Production, Customer Service, Shipping, and Suppliers to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage production schedules in collaboration with the production team to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments. Coordinate job releases, generate job travelers, and track job status through completion in the ERP system.
  • Create and manage material and MRO purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure materials are available to support production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate vendor, purchasing, inventory, item master, and BOM records within the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with Production, Customer Service, Shipping, and Suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor inventory levels, perform inventory adjustments, support cycle counts, and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Support daily production operations by coordinating priorities, expediting rush orders, issuing materials, and providing coverage for the Plant Manager when required.
  • Investigate quality concerns, manage non-conforming materials, coordinate vendor credits, and support quality management system requirements.
  • Analyze job costs and margins, investigate variances, and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production and operational objectives.
Does this sound like you?
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a production coordination, production planning, purchasing, inventory, or manufacturing support role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing production schedules while working closely with production teams to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment; Syteline experience is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, material requirements, and purchasing processes.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and production, inventory, and purchasing management systems.
  • Knowledge of label, printing, packaging, or other manufacturing operations is considered an asset.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify process improvement opportunities, and support initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and on-time delivery performance.
