Job Description

Direct and coordinate activities of people engaged in the purchase, sale and trend identification processes; oversee the purchasing staff as well as all policies, practices, and procedures of the department

Execute purchasing activities from the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy to the management of agreements and vendors

Establish short and long term purchasing objectives with annual goals that will support the overall merchandising and business strategy

Conduct research to identify the market trends, products and suppliers of the highest quality and most efficient delivery schedules

Build a supplier ranking matrix for vendors in China and America

Work with current vendor relationships, including negotiating with vendors in China and America, as well as sourcing new partnerships

Leverage vendor/supplier relationships to maximize efficiencies in product transportation, quality and overall profitability

Develop Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotes (RFQ) with potential vendors in China and America

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Purchasing Manager to develop and execute strategic and tactical initiatives that directly contribute to supply chain success initiatives, supply chain cost reduction, business engagement and improvements in overall operational efficiency. You will head up the Purchasing Department and collaborate closely with the Sourcing Director to analyze and identify areas of opportunity. You will mentor and drive the Buying team to obtain their strategic goals. You are passionate about purchasing, motivated to support an international supply chain, and strive to positively impact strategic goals.


You must be able to:

Contact vendors, set up purchasing orders, negotiate costs, and track delivery of all raw goods

Oversee the Purchasing Team to drive successful initiatives and best practices

Source products and review current supply chains to identify areas of improvement and cost reduction

Organize and maintain an accurate ERP Purchasing module to make sure the data has complete integrity at all times, including ship dates, price lists, shipment tracking etc.

Reconcile billing errors and provide back-up documents for inventory movement to A/P

Manage quality throughout the supply chain to ensure product receipts meet company standards and take effective actions to improve quality when standards are not met

Speak, read, and write  in Mandarin and English

Be proficient in Microsoft Office and related applications
