About the Position:

The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Store Equipment Purchasing Manager in our Store Support Center (099). This position will be responsible for managing the selection and purchasing of equipment for new stores/remodels and special projects. The successful candidate will be a strong team player possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment

What You'll Do:
  • Equipment selections for store equipment, including refrigeration, shelving, and food preparation equipment.
  • Receiving and vetting equipment quotes.
  • Issue Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for store equipment.
  • Scheduling deliveries for new stores, remodels, special projects and equipment replacements in existing stores.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery schedules with store development, operations, and construction teams.
  • Maintaining the cut sheet library and Standards (pricing tables).
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to resolve warranty issues, delivery issues, equipment performance issues etc.
  • Meeting with vendors about new products for us to consider.
  • Meeting with the merchants to determine the proper piece of equipment to meet their needs.
  • Provide accurate pricing to the teams for FFE and to Purchasing for purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and explore opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the supermarket, restaurant, or related retail industry.
  • Solicitation of vendor quotes and equipment selection experience.
  • Strong proficiency with the MS Office suite is essential.
  • Ability to work and communicate at many different levels within our organization (Merchants, Construction, Technicians, and Operators).
  • Highly motivated, creative individual, who thinks strategically and possesses strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills.
  • Leads by example and works to produce high-quality finished products.
  • High level critical thinking.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing a Purchasing system (Coupa, SAP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with refrigeration, shelving, and food preparation equipment.
