As a Category Purchaser for mechanical components, with a strong focus on sourcing castings, forgings, assemblies, and mild steel machine parts, you will lead and coordinate Valmet's global spare parts procurement operations by executing operational and strategical purchasing assignments that deliver optimal value to the company. You will secure an efficient supply of parts serving customers across the Pulp, Energy & Circularity, Packaging, and Tissue sectors. Through strategic supplier management and footprint optimization, you will contribute to transforming the supply chain, enhancing cost-efficiency, and strengthening the competitiveness of Valmet's procurement function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute procurement activities for assigned categories and suppliers, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Lead annual price negotiations and maintain pricing and item data in ERP and related systems.
  • Define and implement supply strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including supplier quality and logistics.
  • Drive long-term cost reduction initiatives and support CCC sourcing.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance in areas such as delivery reliability, quality, innovation, and lead times.
  • Support sales and cost estimation with sourcing insights
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and contractual standards.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and actively identify and evaluate new suppliers.
  • Oversee inventory levels to support healthy net working capital and operational efficiency.

To succeed in the role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 2- 5 years' experience in Category Management or Sourcing in the industrial sector in international organizations.
  • Experience in Engineering.
  • Excellent analytical skills&ability to run with swift&fact-based decisions.
  • Strong influencing and negotiations skillswith demonstrated ability to achieve results in a global matrix organization.
  • Strong knowledge ofMS Officeenvironment.
  • Experience operating inERP Systems (previous experience using Infor LN is preferable).
  • Fluent in English.
  • High level of commitment and proactive approach.
