Job description

Who We Are
OmniMetrix has been the industry leader in remote monitoring and control since 1998, when we built the first wireless monitor for on-site power generation. We design and assemble the monitoring hardware that protects critical equipment - commercial and residential generators, cathodic protection systems, air compressors, and more - for a nationwide network of dealers, distributors, and end users. We also have a new line of infrastructure solutions for cell tower security. Our devices are built from a high volume of small electronic components, which makes disciplined supply chain management central to everything we ship.
Who You Are
We are seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Manager to own end-to-end inventory, purchasing, and fulfillment for our hardware operations. This person will manage a large catalog of small electronic parts and sub-components, maintain accurate build assemblies in QuickBooks Enterprise, drive on-time delivery to our dealers and customers, and uphold the internal controls expected in a public-company environment. The ideal candidate is detail-obsessed, comfortable on the production floor, and equally at ease reconciling a cycle count, renegotiating a vendor lead time, and supporting an audit request.
What You'll Do
Inventory Management
  • Own inventory accuracy for hundreds of SKUs, with particular focus on small electronic parts and components used in device assembly.
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust par/reorder quantities and safety-stock levels based on demand, lead times, and historical usage.
  • Design and run a recurring cycle-count program; investigate and resolve variances and report on inventory accuracy metrics.
  • Manage build assemblies (BOMs) in QuickBooks Enterprise - creating, updating, and reconciling assembly builds so that component consumption and finished-goods counts stay accurate.
  • Identify QuickBooks Enterprise plugins, add-ons, or third-party packages that can be integrated to automate manual inventory, purchasing, receiving, and fulfillment procedures.
  • Identify and implement AI tools to manage inventory more effectively - leveraging them to improve demand forecasting, reorder-point optimization, cycle-count prioritization, and overall inventory accuracy.

Purchasing & Vendor Management
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with component and contract vendors.
  • Place and track purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and proactively manage lead times and shortages.
  • Forecast and predict order timelines, communicating realistic availability dates to sales, production, and leadership.
  • Identify and qualify alternate or second-source suppliers to reduce single-source risk.

Fulfillment & Shipping
  • Oversee outbound shipping and fulfillment to dealers, distributors, and end users, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate carriers, shipping methods, and costs; resolve shipping exceptions.
  • Align fulfillment capacity with order volume and production schedules.

Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Implement, document, and enforce internal controls over inventory, purchasing, receiving, and shipping.
  • Maintain proper segregation of duties and approval thresholds across the procure-to-pay and inventory cycles.
  • Support internal and external audit requests with accurate records, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Maintain written procedures and ensure consistent adherence across the operations team.

Planning & Reporting
  • Partner with leadership to forecast demand and align purchasing and inventory investment with production plans.
  • Track and report key metrics: inventory accuracy, turns, fill rate, on-time delivery, lead times, and excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Recommend and drive process improvements that reduce cost, waste, and stockouts.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of supply chain, inventory, purchasing, or materials management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or hardware-assembly environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing inventory and build assemblies in QuickBooks Enterprise (this is essential, not "nice to have").
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high volume of small parts and components.
  • Proven track record establishing par levels, running cycle counts, and maintaining high inventory accuracy.
  • Direct experience working with and negotiating with vendors, and managing purchase orders and lead times.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data to forecast and report.
  • Able to work fully on-site in Buford, GA every business day.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in supply chain within a small public company, with first-hand familiarity implementing and enforcing internal controls (e.g., SOX-style controls, segregation of duties, audit support).
  • Experience with electronic components, contract manufacturing, or low-to-mid-volume hardware assembly.
  • Familiarity with shipping/logistics platforms and carrier management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field or commensurate experience

Key Competencies
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Clear communicator who can coordinate across production, sales, finance, and leadership.
  • Ownership mentality - comfortable being the single point of accountability for inventory integrity.
  • Sound judgment around controls, documentation, and compliance.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Bonus opportunity at management discretion based on company financial performance and individual contribution.
  • Potential for stock option grant(s) from parent company, Acorn Energy (ACFN).
  • Health/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.
  • The opportunity to own the supply chain function at an established, growing industry leader.

OmniMetrix is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
