Purpose of Position: To purchase and schedule delivery of materials on time and coordinate movements within the ERP system throughout logistics and into production.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  • Researches and evaluates new vendors
  • Enhances vendor relationships
  • Establishes payment terms with vendors
  • Reviews requisitions for goods and services
  • Places orders for consumable materials, services, and inventory parts: monitors and expedites orders
  • Responsible for completing tasks and projects within the scheduled timeframe and meeting department deadlines
  • Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in the correct quantities
  • Verifies available funds with Finance on pre-paid orders
  • Monitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and proper certification received
  • Requests RMA’s on defective material
  • Maintains and reviews records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, and inventories
  • Works closely with Sales, Production, Logistics, and Finance
  • Assists in quoting material for in-house projects and sales solicitations
  • Travels as required
  • Confers with manager to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement.
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
  • Works overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job)

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions
  • Demonstrated time, priority, and stress management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Must be able to hear running machinery
  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with ERP systems is required.
  • Two (2) years of purchasing experience required.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in an aviation, industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and / or experience in inventory control is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with vendor / supplier management is preferred.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Work Conditions:

Generally works in an office environment. Occasionally, exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, and loud noise.
