Cherokee Town & Country Club, one of the nation’s premier private clubs, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at our Country Club in Sandy Springs, GA.

This is more than receiving deliveries and managing inventory. You’ll play an important role behind the scenes—ensuring our teams have the right products, at the right quality, at the right time, while maintaining strong inventory controls and identifying opportunities to operate more efficiently.

Own the Details — From receiving and invoice verification to inventory, requisitions, uniforms, and stock rotation, you'll help ensure products and information are accurate from arrival to use.

Find Smarter Solutions — Use your purchasing knowledge and analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality our members expect.

Step Up & Lead — Be prepared to oversee Purchasing operations in the Purchasing Director's absence and help keep the department organized, responsive, and running smoothly.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Oversee the receiving and issuing of product deliveries throughout the Club.
  • Inspect incoming products for quality and accuracy.
  • Review invoices against purchase orders and identify shortages, discrepancies, or variances.
  • Manage requisitions and communicate out-of-stock items or shortages to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain proper FIFO stock rotation, storeroom organization, cleanliness, and security.
  • Assist with and perform end-of-month inventory.
  • Manage the ordering, tracking, inventory, and control of rental uniforms.
  • Utilize inventory management and purchase order systems to support daily operations.
  • Order food and beverage products as needed based on established purchasing requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Support the Purchasing Director and oversee department operations when needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Extensive knowledge of food products and culinary ingredients, with a strong understanding of proteins, seafood, produce, dairy, dry goods, and specialty products.
  • Strong knowledge of meat and poultry, including beef grades, primal/subprimal cuts, steak cuts, portion specifications, yields, aging, quality characteristics, and appropriate applications.
  • Knowledge of seafood and fish, including different species, fresh vs. frozen products, seasonality, quality indicators, sourcing, and product specifications
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing procedures, inventory control, and receiving operations.
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Experience identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
  • Experience using inventory management and purchase order systems.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, mature, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and access areas throughout the facility as needed.
  • Ability to travel between Club locations when necessary.
