Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Specialist will draft and negotiate purchasing agreements, conduct RFP’s, RFQ’s and contract negotiations with suppliers for completion activities according to the Dassault Group processes (Consultation & Contracting) for the purpose of reducing costs. This role will also manage, with suppliers, commercial aspects related to developments of new products, resolve disputes with suppliers, and will be the primary point of contact for suppliers at Dassault Falcon Jet (DFJ) for all commercial aspects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Is responsible for all commercial contacts with assigned suppliers

At the request of the Purchasing Manager, conduct RFP’s, RFQ’s and contracts negotiations according to the Dassault Group processes

In conjunction with DFJ or Dassault Aviation (DA) Legal, development of contracts and agreements in support of the Materials & Purchasing agenda.

Ensure that suppliers meet their contractual obligations, negotiates recovery plans and financial damages

Coordinates meetings with other departments (Quality, Production, Programs, Engineering) to ensure that suppliers constraints (capacity, production means) are understood and taken into account

Documents and resolves disputes with suppliers

Reduces the costs of materials under its responsibility

Sources alternate vendors for the purpose of cost savings (Purchasing costs or operating costs)

Support RFI’s, RFQ’s and RFP’s initiated by DA for completions activities.

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

None

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or relevant field.

Three (3) years’ experience in purchasing field.

Understanding of methods, practices and techniques of contract negotiations.

Understanding of purchasing practices and procedures, preferably with the general business aviation industry or aerospace industry.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.

 ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), or similar certification

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment

Some travel may be required 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: 

The compensation for this position typically falls between $64,426.00 and $86,031.00 per year.  This position is not eligible for overtime under FLSA guidelines.  Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
