Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing. Schwan's Shared Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Schwan's Company, seeks a Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing at our office in Hopkins, Minnesota. Accountable for the management of assigned category(s) spend of up to $75m including research, negotiation, contracting, budgeting, and communication to all stakeholders with minimal supervision. Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and customers as required. Travel to plant and vendor locations as needed and required to maintain relationship. Determine category pricing by conducting market research, negotiating, proactive supplier contracting and establishing commodity futures positions (inclusive of futures/options/financial hedging). Manage operational, supply and quality issues for category. Accountable for support the new product developments process, generating YoY productivity and managing the projects through the Stage Gate process. Develop and manage the suppliers base to ensure optimized cost and supply for SFC operating facilities. Identify potential suppliers, organize, negotiate costs, terms and conditions, and manage assigned product categories within multiple business units for assigned products. Responsible for managing and leading complex negotiations. Manage operational, supply and quality issues for category. Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation. Interface with plant and corporate management personnel as well as peers within the procurement organization. Maintain and apply a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible. Utilize risk management tools to hedge prices for traded commodities as assigned Support development of machine learning and AI models to continuously improve the company's risk management practices. Develop balance table and stock-to-use analysis for assigned traded commodities. Support development and deployment of global category strategy roadmap. Utilize pricing platforms (reverse bidding, auction, online RFP software) to drive efficiencies. Continuously strive to reduce total cost of procured goods and services. Understand the contract process and make decisions in a timely manner to optimize pricing of competitive bidders. Manage discussions between vendors and engineering, operating or maintenance personnel as required or directed. Other duties, as assigned. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Requirements - Education: bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, International Studies, China Studies or a closely related field or a master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, International Studies, China Studies or a closely related field. Individuals with a qualifying master's degree must have at least two years of experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Category Manager, Procurement Manager, Purchasing Senior Analyst, Purchasing Professional, Procurement Planning Specialist or similarly titled role involved in direct purchasing of raw materials or OEM co-pack food products in the food industry for a large food manufacturer and distributor. A large food manufacturer and distributor is one with at least $500 million in gross sales or foreign equivalent, if outside the U.S. Work from home, one day a week, in the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, MN-WI area is permitted but not required. Domestic and international travel to plants and suppliers is required, for approximately 10% of the time.
