Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Associate Buyer supports Managers and Buyers in developing presentations and contracts, researching, negotiating and developing products with ITA Group suppliers for new and existing customers. The Associate Buyer also assists in preparing sold programs for the turn to operations, as well as provides assistance in regards to VIP favors. The Associate Buyer continuously nurtures supplier relationships.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related major. 
  • Minimum two years experience in working in a business environment. Experience in the travel industry or customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred. 
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Assist in targeting, negotiating and preparing presentations for new and existing business. 
  • Assist copywriters and the Transportation Operations department in developing ITA Group written proposals/contracts making sure quality control standards are maintained. 
  • Assist in negotiating supplier contracts for all new client programs making sure quality control standards are met. 
  • Assist in confirming program elements through signed agreements with suppliers. 
  • Ability to work effectively with all of the department team members, internal sales team and internal and external customers in a manner that enhances each person's concentration and nurtures teamwork. 
  • Ability to handle numerous projects and stay positive under stress or quick turnaround deadlines. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • Must display a good attitude and mutual respect to all customers of ITA Group. 
  • Use good strategic thinking and problem solving skills and nurture positive thinking. 
  • Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred. 
  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
