Inventory Control Specialist

Position – Inventory Control Specialist

Job Location –Sussex, WI

Starting Date – Immediate

Employment Term – Temp-to-Hire

Employment Type – Full-Time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift

Starting Pay – Based on Experience, $24/hr

Benefits – Medical, Vision, Dental, 401(K), Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, Referral Bonus

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED preferred

Required Experience – 2+ years inventory control or materials management in manufacturing


Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, performing audits and cycle counts, and ensuring the integrity of all materials data within the ERP system. This role works closely with production, purchasing, scheduling, and accounting to support efficient operations. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and manufacturing experience are essential to success in this position.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, internal audits, and physical inventories of raw materials, components, hardware, and finished goods.
  • Update and reconcile ERP/MRP system records (JobBOSS preferred) for all incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies to maintain system integrity.
  • Pick and issue materials, components, and hardware to production per job travelers and system requirements.
  • Review closed job reports for accuracy related to quantities produced, scrapped, and issued.
  • Prepare and distribute routine inventory and variance reports for production and accounting departments.
  • Support Master Scheduler using data and analysis to optimize inventory levels, balancing carrying cost, lead times, and production needs.
  • Monitor inventory turns and report aged inventory to appropriate departments for resolution.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support plant operations.


Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or similar role within manufacturing.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong math and analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accurate data entry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
