Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator to support procurement and shipping operations. This role is responsible for sourcing vendors, managing purchase orders, coordinating shipments, and ensuring accurate documentation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively balance purchasing and logistics responsibilities.

Pay: $18+/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: MondayThursday, 7:00 AM 4:30 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM 11:00 AM

Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing
  • Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers
  • Compare pricing, quality, and delivery timelines to determine best value
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers
  • Process purchase orders and enter order details into internal systems
  • Track orders and ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and supplier performance
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage of materials
  • Handle discrepancies including shortages, overages, damaged goods, and backorders
  • Prepare purchasing reports and cost analyses
  • Process invoices and maintain documentation
Shipping & Logistics
  • Review freight rates and transportation costs to ensure cost efficiency
  • Execute logistics plans to meet production and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers, vendors, customers, and overseas agents
  • Arrange cargo transportation and ensure timely delivery
  • Prepare and process required documentation, including:
    • Bills of Lading (BOLs)
    • Air Waybills (AWB)
    • Invoices
    • Export declarations (EEI)
    • Import documentation and shipment records
  • Create and maintain detailed shipment files
  • Track shipments and communicate status updates to all relevant parties
  • Manage billing, quoting, filing, and customer service related to shipments
Qualifications & Skills
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
  • ERP system experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
