We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.

We areย seekingย a highly motivatedย Sr. Purchasing Specialist, Avionics & Mission Systemsย to support the sourcing and procurement of critical avionics, electrical, and mission systems hardware. This role will manageย purchasingย activities, supplier relationships, and order execution supporting programs from early development through production.ย 

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, commercially minded, and comfortable working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program teams in a fast-paced, early-stage aerospace environment.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Source andย procureย avionics, electrical, and mission systems hardware, including PCB/PCBAs, sensors, harnesses, connectors, power electronics, and related components.ย 

  • Develop sourcing strategies andย establishย supplier partnerships thatย optimizeย cost, quality, lead time, and supply-chain risk.ย 

  • Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, lead times, commercial terms, NRE, and other purchasing requirements.ย 

  • Issue and manage purchase orders supportingย prototype, development, qualification, and production builds.ย 

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program teams to ensure hardware meets technical requirements and program schedules.ย 

  • Monitor supplier performance, long-lead components, capacity, availability, andย obsolescence/EOL risks, proactively addressing potential disruptions.ย 

  • Support resolution of supplier quality, delivery, invoicing, engineering change, and material non-conformance issues.ย 

  • Ensure purchasing activities and supplier documentationย comply withย company policies, contractual requirements, and applicableย ITAR/DFARS requirements.ย 

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.ย 

  • 4+ years of experienceย in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing.ย 

  • Experience managing suppliers andย purchasingย complex engineered hardware or components.ย 

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.ย 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.ย 

  • Proficiencyย with Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.ย 

Preferred Experience & Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, space, or aviation.ย 

  • Purchasing or sourcing experience supportingย avionics, electronics, electrical, or mission systems.ย 

  • Familiarity with electronic components, PCB/PCBAs, sensors, harnesses, connectors, and related avionics hardware.ย 

  • Ability to read and interpretย technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specificationsย to support supplier sourcing and procurement of avionics and electrical hardware, including wiring harness assemblies.ย 

  • Experience supporting hardware fromย prototype and development through production.ย 

  • Understanding of electronicย componentย lead times, lifecycle, allocation, and obsolescence risks.ย 

  • Familiarity withย ITAR, DFARS, supplier quality, and traceability requirements.ย 

  • Experience working in anย early-stage or rapidly scaling aerospace environment.ย 

$103,950 - $154,275 a year

The salary range listed for this role is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including role scope and responsibilities, relevant experience, education and training, key skills, market data, and business needs.
