Job description

Overview:

Service Trucks International (STI) is looking for a Lead Purchasing Agent to guide our purchasing team and ensure materials arrive on time, at the right cost, and at the highest quality. This role is critical to keeping our production running smoothly and supporting both internal teams and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Source suppliers, solicit quotes, and build strong vendor relationships
  • Maintain accurate item and vendor databases
  • Review planning reports and demand changes to create or update purchase orders
  • Communicate material shortages and identify alternate sourcing solutions
  • Write, maintain, and audit purchasing procedures to ensure consistency and training success
  • Manage documentation for vendor agreements
  • Manage processing of outside process vendor POs
  • Review and update standard costs and order quantities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and scheduling teams

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of purchasing/supply chain experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing purchasing or supply chain
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (TCM preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to write procedures and communicate clearly across teams
  • Understanding of blueprints, manufacturing, and assembly processes
  • Solid math and analytical skills (costing, quantities, conversions)
  • Experience with global supply chain and vendor management is a plus
