Are you an experienced procurement professional ready to take the lead in managing a dynamic purchasing operation? Our established plumbing solutions company is seeking a strategic Purchasing Manager to drive our procurement activities and lead our purchasing and warehouse teams to new levels of excellence.
About the Role
As our Purchasing Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operations, responsible for sourcing equipment, materials, and services while managing critical vendor relationships. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Branch Manager, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's efficiency and profitability.
What You'll Do
Lead Procurement Strategy:
โ€ข Purchase materials, fixtures, and supplies including large direct orders
โ€ข Review and manage all new construction purchase orders and approvals
โ€ข Monitor material and purchase levels to protect cash flow
โ€ข Maintain accurate costing and vendor information in internal systems
Build Strategic Partnerships:
โ€ข Meet with vendors to negotiate pricing and develop partnerships
โ€ข Maintain strong relationships with major builders' purchasing teams
โ€ข Process quarterly, bi-annual, and annual manufacturer rebates
โ€ข Continuously improve sourcing strategies
Lead Operations & Teams:
โ€ข Direct warehouse supervisor on inventory management and operations
โ€ข Lead the monthly inventory team and ensure accuracy
โ€ข Oversee proper receiving and tracking of all fixtures and materials
โ€ข Run scheduled reports and maintain department oversight
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
โ€ข Associate's degree in Business Administration (Bachelor's preferred)
โ€ข Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or logistics
โ€ข Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
โ€ข Experience with inventory software and management processes
โ€ข Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
