DESCRIPTION:

The Purchasing Clerk is a support role for the Atlanta Purchasing Team. The main purpose of this job is to do data entry of PO’s and to organize purchasing and follow up with suppliers by email and by phone on shipments of ingredients and packaging.

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Develop purchasing strategies working alongside the purchasing team in their daily activities of sourcing suppliers and purchasing products, equipment, and services.
  • This Position will follow up with receiving to make sure the purchased merchandise is being received and with inventory for the understanding of requisition. With the purpose of making sure all the procurement, receiving and inventory stock processes are being implemented correctly, furthermore into the payment processing.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

  • knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Mathematical knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow up with daily procurement, receiving and inventory activities.
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
  • Managing the procurement for manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Assist in Accounts Payable resolution for vendor invoices, vendor document
  • Follow up on certificate of analysis and any product return documentation
  • Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
  • Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
  • Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and GP Dynamics is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and work well with others in all departments as well as with suppliers
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • English is required, and being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
