Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory & Logistics Coordinator to support inventory control, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations in our manufacturing facility. This role works closely with Production, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure materials are received accurately, inventory remains organized, and customer orders are shipped on time.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Essential Responsibilities

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material locations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Issue materials to production jobs.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Document certifications and required receiving paperwork.
  • Prepare shipments for postal, parcel, and freight carriers.
  • Select the most cost-effective shipping methods while ensuring products are packaged safely.
  • Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, and related documentation.
  • Process customer returns (RMAs).
  • Track lost shipments and obtain proof of delivery when necessary.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage and report discrepancies.

Logistics Coordination

  • Issue purchase orders for outside processing.
  • Coordinate with vendors to monitor outside processing and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate with Production and Operations regarding shipping priorities and material availability.
  • Deliver finished products to customers when required.
  • Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on schedule.

Quality & Safety

  • Follow all established Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure proper identification, handling, storage, and protection of materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or inventory management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular exposure to moving equipment, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment are required.

Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Must be able to lift 45 lbs. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.
