Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchase Assistant to support our procurement and inventory operations. The ideal candidate will assist with purchasing laboratory equipment, calibration standards, tools, office supplies, and subcontracted services while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining accurate records in accordance with company procedures and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create and process purchase orders.
  • Obtain and compare vendor quotations.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and deliveries.
  • Maintain vendor records and approved supplier information.
  • Coordinate purchases of calibration equipment, laboratory supplies, and consumables.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reorder points.
  • Verify packing slips, invoices, and receiving documentation.
  • Coordinate outsourced calibration and repair services with approved vendors.
  • Support supplier evaluations and vendor performance tracking.
  • Maintain procurement records in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and company quality procedures.
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Accounting, and Technical Departments.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1โ€“3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or administrative experience.
  • Experience in aviation, manufacturing, laboratory, or technical environments is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with ERP systems, QuickBooks, or purchasing software is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
