Who We Are Looking For:We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Groomer to set the standard for grooming quality and safety while mentoring our Bathers and Groomers-in-training. This is a working lead role-you'll groom dogs while helping the team grow. The right person leads by example, communicates openly, and takes pride in a trusted, stress-free experience for every dog.
Benefits:Hourly pay regardless of number of dogs serviced: $31-39/hr

What You'll Do:
  • Groom and teach to Scenthound standards-the puppy cut: one length all over with a neat face
  • Lead, guide, and mentor Bathers and Groomers-in-training
  • Help set the pace and tone for productivity and on-time service in the back of house
  • Provide hands-on support to keep grooming flowing during the day
  • Promote and follow safety and sanitation standards on every dog
  • Help identify areas to improve and put solutions into practice
  • Create a positive, communicative team environment
  • Take on other tasks as assigned by the Scenter Manager

This Lead Groomer Position Requires:
  • At least five years of grooming experience
  • Knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and the tools of the trade
  • Strength to lift up to 70 pounds and stamina to stand for long periods
  • Confidence and empathy handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
  • A team player who takes initiative and follows through
  • Fear-free certification and Dog CPR certified are a plus
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment

  • Clear communication with team members and dog parents
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Solid time management
  • Ability to self-critique and hold yourself-and your team-to high grooming standards
