Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
CPF's free Senior Fitness Program reaches thousands of seniors each year at citywide parks, providing much- needed exercise and activity for adults 60 and over. In addition to the health benefits, seniors are engaged both mentally and emotionally with others throughout the course of the program. We are seeking part-time Yoga instructors for the Spring & Fall 2026 seasons.
COMPENSATION: $60 - 75 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organize groups of up 30 seniors in an orderly and safe manner
  • Plan, demonstrate and teach daily lesson plans
  • Monitor distribution, storage and periodic transport of equipment
  • Monitor weekly attendance and maintain accurate records of class participants
  • Answer questions from the public and promote whenever possible to the community
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols and procedures

REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies, both internal and external to CPF
  • Exceptional communication skills and work-ethic
  • Prior group-teaching experience preferred, preferably with seniors
  • Applicants may be subject to a background check
  • Certification preferred but not required

We connect youngsters to nature in the urban environment through progressive, experiential teaching. Using parks as classrooms, we provide learning experiences and hands-on activities in urban forests, coastal areas, and gardens.
Free golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, and fitness programs bring high-quality instruction and equipment into areas where few organized athletic opportunities exist. We offer leveled training, year-round scholarship coaching, and special pro events.
