How much do pup driver jobs pay per week?

As of Jul 15, 2026, the average weekly pay for pup driver in the United States is $1,533.87, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $1,365.38 and $1,730.77 per week, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pup Driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pup Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a clean driving record, and experience with tractor-trailers, especially double trailers known as 'pups.' Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and DOT regulations is typically required, and certification in hazardous materials (HAZMAT) may be advantageous. Strong time management, attention to detail, and effective communication help drivers ensure timely deliveries and safe operations. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maintaining safety, compliance, and reliability in freight transportation.

What are some common challenges faced by Pup Drivers, and how can they be managed?

Pup Drivers often face challenges such as maneuvering double trailers in tight spaces, managing time-sensitive deliveries, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Navigating urban areas or crowded distribution centers with pup trailers requires strong spatial awareness and excellent driving skills. Effective communication with dispatchers and dock staff is essential to coordinate pickups and deliveries smoothly. Staying up-to-date with safety protocols and regularly inspecting equipment can help mitigate risks and maintain efficiency in daily operations.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

There are no widely verified companies offering truck drivers, including pup drivers, $14,000 per week. Such high earnings are uncommon and may be associated with specialized or owner-operator roles, often involving long hauls, high mileage, or additional incentives. Job seekers should verify offers carefully and consider industry standards for trucking wages.

What jobs make $3,000 a month without a degree?

A Pup Driver, such as a delivery driver or courier, can earn around $3,000 a month with consistent work and a valid driver's license. Other jobs that often pay this amount without a degree include commercial truck driving, sales positions, and certain skilled trades like HVAC or plumbing, which may require certifications but not a college degree.

How to make 500 a day with a pickup truck?

A pup driver or similar truck-based jobs can earn $500 a day by completing high-volume delivery or hauling tasks, often requiring efficient route planning, good customer service, and sometimes specialized equipment or licenses. Increasing daily income involves taking on multiple jobs, working long hours, or securing contracts with consistent clients such as moving companies or construction firms.

Is $0.55 a mile good for a truck driver?

For a pup driver, earning $0.55 per mile is generally below industry averages, which typically range from $0.60 to $0.75 per mile depending on experience and region. Factors such as load type, company policies, and experience can influence pay rates, so drivers should compare offers accordingly.

What is a Pup Driver?

A Pup Driver is a professional truck driver who operates smaller trailers known as 'pup trailers,' typically ranging from 26 to 28 feet in length. These drivers often transport freight as part of a truck and pup combination, where one or more pup trailers are pulled behind a cab or tractor. Pup Drivers are commonly used in less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping, where multiple small shipments are consolidated into one trailer. Their responsibilities include safely transporting goods, loading and unloading cargo, and adhering to road safety regulations. Pup Drivers play a vital role in ensuring goods are delivered efficiently in regional or local routes.

What is the difference between Pup Driver vs Delivery Driver?
