Application Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S Based)
FLSA Classification: Exempt/Salaried
Compensation Range: $90,000 - 130,000

(Compensation is determined by a combination of an individual's relevant work experience and educational requirements.)
Business Need / Purpose of the Role
The Application Engineer at Trillium Flow Technologies is a key technical role responsible for providing expert application support and technical solutions to customers while promoting the company's products and services. This position partners closely with customers, sales, and internal engineering teams to ensure optimal application of Trillium's fluid handling technologies, driving customer satisfaction, technical excellence, and business growth.
Objectives & Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities outline the primary results this role is expected to accomplish, including but not limited to:
  • Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and operational challenges, providing tailored solutions utilizing Trillium Flow Technologies' products and services
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer training sessions highlighting the features and benefits of Trillium's fluid handling solutions
  • Partner with the sales team to develop technical proposals and application recommendations aligned with customer needs and product capabilities
  • Provide technical support throughout the sales process, including responding to inquiries, troubleshooting application issues, and assisting with product selection
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to communicate customer feedback, identify product improvements, and support the development of new solutions
  • Analyze application data and system requirements to recommend appropriate products, materials, and configurations for specific customer applications
  • Prepare, maintain, and update technical documentation such as application notes, product specifications, and installation guides
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and advancements in fluid handling technologies to effectively communicate value propositions
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer visits to promote Trillium Flow Technologies and build strong industry relationships
  • Observe and comply with all safety, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Adhere to the organization's code of conduct, time and attendance policies, and all other company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales support, or a related role within the manufacturing or fluid handling industry
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, pump technologies, and related engineering principles

Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively across sales, engineering, and product teams
  • Proficiency with technical software tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required to support customer needs and sales initiatives
