We are seeking a passionate and purposeful Assistant Pastor of Music and Body Life to join and serve the vibrant body here at Central Bible Church. This man will facilitate and deepen the body's maturity and worship through music, training, and pastoral care.

Job Description

  • Head the plural leadership of CBC’s corporate worship in music with the Worship Committee under the authority and direction of the Board of Elders, including but not limited to:
    • Maintain a Worship Committee to help guide and direct the music ministry
    • Train and prepare (a) worship team(s) to lead the musical portions of our Sunday morning corporate gatherings
    • Plan, lead, and support regular and special Sunday morning corporate worship services
    • Cultivate a biblically sound and theologically rich church hymnody so that the body can readily “teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” with a variety of music ranging from ancient to contemporary
    • Invest in the spiritual lives of those involved in the music ministry through care and discipleship
    • Develop new and future members of the music ministry
    • Guide the A/V and online team
    • Lead or delegate a choir for holiday services (Christmas and Easter)
  • Participate as a non-voting member of the Board of Elders, giving care and oversight to the body of CBC
  • Serve the body of CBC on the pastoral staff under the direction of the Lead Pastor with other areas of ministry potentially including some of the following areas, depending on need and ability:
    • Pastoral counseling
    • Visitation
    • Administration
    • Family and Children’s
    • Youth
    • College and career
    • Evangelism and outreach
    • Pulpit supply
  • Be a representative of Christ and CBC in the community of the Flathead Valley

Personal Qualifications

  • Demonstrated vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and His Bride, the church
  • Elder qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9
  • Model a lifestyle of worship, humility, service, and leadership
  • Unreserved embrace of CBC’s doctrinal statement and published teaching

Professional Qualifications

  • Formal musical training is valued but not required and musical proficiency is necessary
  • College degree will be considered but is not required
