Job description

Bismark Construction Corp has an immediate opening for an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee public works projects who is familiar with the rules and regulations of public works projects.

Our customers are State, County, and Municipal entities located in New Jersey. As such, we are seeking a Superintendent to manage high end commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in all facets of construction and a demonstrated ability to effectively translate the ownerโ€™s vision into reality. Additionally, candidates should have strong written and oral communications and the ability to manage subcontractors while keeping the project on schedule and under budget.

*Job Descriptions

*Provide overall on-site supervisory and technical management on construction project site. Ensure client satisfaction is maintained. Highly proficient in planning and coordinating field activities. Knowledgeable in the planning and buyout phases of projects.

ยท Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, A-E representatives, other contractors etc.

ยท Administer on-site safety program.

ยท Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions and staff (engineering, material control etc.)

ยท Maintain daily reports and all other necessary documentation

ยท Develop and manage project schedules.

ยท Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and ensure overall contractual performance.

ยท Approve all project purchase requisitions, equipment rentals etc.

ยท Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc.

ยท Implement and maintain strict quality control and safety standards.

ยท Develop and implement project procedures, management tools, standards etc.

ยท Review submittals for compliance with contract requirements.

ยท Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, work rules etc.

ยท Document all violations and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.

ยท Review change order requests prior to submittal to owners.

ยท Perform additional duties as required to meet project goals.

Required Skills

ยท Thorough knowledge of every aspect of construction: technology, equipment, methods, craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety required.

ยท Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.

ยท Experience with running a New Jersey Public Works project a MUST.

ยท Minimum of 5-10 years experience as a Construction Superintendent. Compensation is based on experience.
