Job description

About Atom

Atom.com is on a mission to reimagine the future of naming. We've built a powerful domain marketplace and branding platform. But we’re not here to do more of the same—we’re building a platform from the ground up, powered by AI, brand-first thinking, and a deep understanding of what founders and domain investors actually need to power their business.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a PR & Media Outreach Associate to support our media outreach efforts and learn hands-on PR execution in a fast-paced startup environment.

This is an execution-focused, entry-level role. You will work closely with the marketing and leadership team to help organize outreach, manage media lists, and support pitching efforts. You’ll gain real experience working on startup announcements, product launches, and brand storytelling.

This role is ideal for someone early in their PR career who has some exposure to media outreach or communications work and wants to grow into a stronger PR practitioner.

What You’ll Do

You will support the PR function across day-to-day execution, including:

Media List Building

  • Research relevant journalists, editors, and outlets in business, tech, and startup media
  • Maintain and organize media lists in a shared tracker
  • Help segment lists by topic, beat, and campaign

Outreach Support

  • Send pitches and follow-ups using pre-written messaging and templates
  • Track outreach activity and journalist responses
  • Help ensure consistent and timely follow-up cycles

Press Materials

  • Assist in updating press releases, pitch templates, and briefing documents
  • Light writing support (not strategy creation)

Campaign Execution Support

  • Help coordinate media outreach around product launches and announcements
  • Support scheduling and logistics for PR campaigns

Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain simple spreadsheets tracking outreach and coverage
  • Log responses, opens, and placements

What We’re Looking For

We are not looking for senior PR strategists or agency leaders. We are looking for someone early in their career who is ready to build strong fundamentals.

  • 0–2 years of experience in PR, communications, journalism, or marketing
  • Some exposure to media outreach, pitching, or content creation (internship, agency, or in-house)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Comfortable working in Google Sheets / Docs and staying highly organized
  • Interest in startups, tech, or branding
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and execute consistently

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Internship or assistant experience at a PR agency
  • Exposure to tech/startup clients
  • Familiarity with tools like Cision, MuckRack, or similar
  • Basic understanding of how journalists and press cycles work
  • Interest in AI, startups, or domain/branding space
