Position: Community Events Summer Intern
Status: Seasonal Internship (Summer), Part-time, 25 hours
Pay Rate: $17/hour based on experience
Description:
The Community Events Summer Intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of community events that promote the organization’s mission, programs, and services. This internship provides hands-on experience in event planning, nonprofit operations, volunteer engagement, public outreach, and community relations. The intern will assist with both on-site and behind-the-scenes event activities while gaining valuable professional experience in the nonprofit and community engagement fields.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparation and organization of summer events, fundraisers, adoption events, outreach activities, and community programs.
  • Help create event timelines, supply checklists, and setup plans.
  • Support communication with vendors, partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics including materials, transportation, and staffing needs.
  • Help with event setup, breakdown, and on-site operations.
  • Welcome guests, answer questions, and represent the organization professionally.
  • Assist with registration tables, merchandise sales, raffles, donation collection, or activity stations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to attendees, donors, and community members.
  • Assist with promoting events through flyers, email, and social media content.
  • Capture photos and event highlight for future marketing use.
  • Help distribute promotional materials in the community.

  • Current college student or recent graduate preferred; high school seniors may be considered.
