Job Summary


Vivint is looking for a Public Relations and Event Specialist to help shape and execute Vivint's public relations and external communications strategy. This role requires proven experience with both traditional and emerging PR, with a strong emphasis on planning and executing PR and brand events, activations, and product/feature launches.

This role will encompass both public relations and experiential brand activities and will be instrumental to planning and executing PR and brand events, launches and activations, press and analyst events, executive briefings, trade shows, sponsorships, internal/external launches, media placements, awards submissions, executive thought leadership content, reputation management, crisis communications support, and ongoing media monitoring and reporting across Vivint and NRG.

An ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong cross-functional project management skills, sound judgment under pressure, and experience managing events from vendor coordination and logistics through on-site execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute internal and external experiential PR and brand events and activations including press and analyst events, executive briefings, trade show presence, sponsorships, internal leadership events, and internal/external launches, including logistics, vendors, timelines, and on-site execution
  • Help shape and execute Vivint's PR and external communications strategy including earned media placements, awards submissions, and thought leadership content
  • Monitor Vivint's appearance in media, online, and AI-generated search results and flag findings to support visibility improvements
  • Support and improve workflows and standards for consistent, effective PR planning, measurement, and response across Vivint and NRG.
  • Assist with critical PR team processes, helping maintain documentation and procedures for the company and its employees
  • Write and edit PR content, including press releases, pitches, bylines, award nominations, and briefing materials
  • Coordinate with the brand/product team to help ensure consistent company voice across channels
  • Track PR projects and support day-to-day and high-level project coordination
  • Support other PR-related projects and activations as needed

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills across all PR formats: press releases, pitches, bylines, briefs, and crisis statements
  • Proven experience planning and executing internal or external events, activations, meetings, or trade shows, including vendor coordination, logistics, timelines, and on-site management
  • Experience supporting corporate, executive, and B2B media relations
  • Familiarity with crisis communications processes, including issues documentation and response support
  • Professional cross-functional project management experience
  • Familiarity with how AI-generated search surfaces brand content and how to influence it
  • Sound judgment under pressure
  • Ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy
  • Experience supporting and adhering to project and departmental budgets
  • Strong reporting and data analysis skills

Minimum Consideration Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, and/or journalism
  • 2-4 years of professional PR experience including reactive and proactive media interactions, event management
  • Strong understanding of how AI and other tools are changing the way brands and audiences interact
  • Familiarity with general office/corporate software and platforms (i.e. Microsoft Suite)
  • Experience with brand and topic level PR monitoring and reporting

Physical Requirements:

  • May occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
  • May occasionally require ability to stand for multiple hours at events/tradeshows/etc.
