Duration: 3-month internship (40 hours/week), with potential to extend

Experience: Prior internship in related health industry or marketing/PR firm desired
LaVoieHealthScience (LHS) is seeking a full-time New Business, Marketing & PR Intern to support marketing and business development initiatives at our health- and science-focused communications agency. This role is highly administrative, detail-oriented, and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Please note: This position requires being physically onsite in our Boston office Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00am–5:30pm and requires prior hands-on experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or business development. Applicants must be located in the Boston area and able to commute to the office.

Candidates must have at least one previous internship, co-op, or relevant professional experience in a related field.
Internship Eligibility (Required)

This internship may be supported by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) Internship Grant, and candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Must be a Massachusetts resident OR attend an accredited Massachusetts college or university
  • Enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate or Master’s program
  • Undergraduate candidates must have completed at least their junior year prior to the internship, or have graduated within the past year
What You'll Do

New Business Support:

  • Track all new business inquiries and RFPs in Pipedrive CRM
  • Support new accounts with agenda’s, notes and media research
  • Maintain and update the agency capabilities deck
  • Assist with customized capabilities decks for prospective clients
  • Support outreach efforts and new business meeting setup
  • Manage email campaigns and outreach via CRM and partnering portals
  • Update bios and materials in partnering portals
  • Track meeting acceptances and manage calendars
  • Prepare prospect backgrounders
  • Support new business meetings, calls, and RFP responses
Marketing Support:

Marketing Operations

  • Support marketing meetings (agendas, recaps)
  • Maintain and update the marketing activity timeline
Awards Planning

  • Identify relevant health and science industry award opportunities
  • Maintain award tracking documents and deadlines
  • Support award research, submissions, and internal coordination
Website & PR

  • Coordinate updates with website maintenance contractor
  • Support agency PR and media research initiatives
  • Draft and distribute agency press releases
  • Maintain media contact lists in CRM
Email Campaigns

  • Build and distribute monthly email campaigns in Pipedrive
  • Review analytics and share insights with the team
Marketing Collateral

  • Assist with updates to agency brochures and capabilities decks
Social Media & Content

  • Build and manage a monthly social media calendar covering:
  • Events and conferences
  • Awards and campaigns
  • Agency news and culture
  • Job openings and thought leadership
  • Monitor and engage with executives, clients, prospects, and influencers
  • Develop evergreen content ideas tied to science, healthcare, and disease areas
  • Track industry news and awareness months
  • Research influencers and grow agency social presence
Conference & Media Monitoring

  • Track upcoming medical, investor, and partnering conferences
  • Maintain and distribute weekly and monthly conference calendars
  • Support media monitoring and editorial calendar tracking
Account Support (Backup)

  • Provide backup support to account teams during high volume or PTO
  • Assist with media lists, reporter backgrounders, social content, and monitoring as needed
