Public Health Dental Hygienist (Part-Time)

Job Description

Provide and maintain preventative oral health services including oral screening/assessment, oral health education, radiographs, intraoral photos, prophylaxis, dental sealants, topical application of fluoride medicaments including Silver Diamine Fluoride, as well as patient management, documentation and referrals.

Department: Dental Services

Hours: Part Time, 27 hours a week required

Shift: 3 days a week; 7:00am - 4:30PM

Required: AS Degree, Licensed Dental Hygienist, Public Health Dental Hygienist, BLS and valid IL driver's License.

***Applicants who do not currently hold the PHDH cert may still be considered if they are eligible to obtain the credential within 90 days of hire. **Until certification is obtained, the employee will be hired, classified, and paid under standard Dental Hygienist position.

Pay: based on experience, starting at $30.56

Responsibilities

Assist with other job duties as assigned by supervisor, director or dentist, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, room turnover, sterilization, community events, promoting program, office tasks and assist with patient resources, referrals, transportation, etc., Provide overall oral screening/assessment, oral health education, radiographs, intraoral photos, prophylaxis, placement of dental sealants, application of topical fluoride medicaments including Silver Diamine Fluoride, appropriately manage patient care, referral plans and efficiently documents services rendered.

AS: Dental Hygiene (Required), High School (Required)Basic Life Support (BLS)- American Heart Association - American Heart Association, Driver's License - State of Illinois, Licensed Dental Hygienist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Public Health Dental Hygienist Designation - Illinois Dental Hygienists' Association
