Public Health Business Analyst Remote Blu Omega is seeking a Public Health Business Analyst to support a CDC public health data modernization program. This role operates within a fully remote environment and is responsible for translating public health stakeholder needs and workflows into clear business and technical requirements to support data exchange and interoperability efforts. The position requires experience supporting requirements, documentation, and validation activities within a mission-driven environment. Program Overview This CDC-funded program supports modernization of public health data exchange and interoperability for state, tribal, local, and territorial public health agencies through the Implementation Center (IC) program. Key Details Location: Remote Responsibilities * Elicit, document, and manage business and technical requirements through interviews, workshops, and reviews with public health stakeholders and SMEs * Develop requirement artifacts such as business requirements, user stories, process maps, data flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria * Support analysis of system integrations and data flows across public health programs, laboratories, registries, and external partners * Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into solution designs, backlog items, and implementation plans * Contribute to test planning, test scenarios, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities in coordination with SMEs and technical staff * Assist with documentation development, including SOPs, data dictionaries, user guides, and meeting summaries * Support consideration of data quality, timeliness, reporting requirements, and reuse across public health use cases * Communicate complex technical topics in clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * At least 2 years of experience serving as a Business Analyst on technical-centric projects * Fluency in public health surveillance, epidemiology workflows, and STLT public health operations * Ability to analyze and document end-to-end workflows, system integrations, and data flows supporting surveillance and reporting use cases * Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences * Collaborative mindset for working across technical delivery teams and public health stakeholders * Clear written and verbal communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills Preferred Qualifications * Working knowledge of public health data exchange and interoperability across public health agencies, laboratories, registries, healthcare partners, and federal systems * Working knowledge of public health standards and artifacts (e.g., HL7 v2, CDA, FHIR) * Working knowledge of Generative AI and agentic research versus other methods of automation Compensation Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
