Position Summary


XWELL is a leader in promoting health and wellness for airport travelers, with more than two decades of service and continued expansion across travel health and wellness services. Through our partnerships with public health agencies, healthcare organizations, and government stakeholders, we support programs that strengthen disease surveillance, public health preparedness, and traveler health initiatives.

The Public Health Specialist serves as a frontline representative supporting public health programs within airport environments. This role is passenger facing and will be directly responsible for communicating with passengers, collecting health-related information. and ensuring compliance with established public health protocols.

The ideal candidate has experience in patient-facing healthcare settings such as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, EMT, or similar healthcare support role. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a passion for public health are essential to success in this position. This role serves as a key liaison between travelers and public health programs while helping support disease surveillance and health monitoring efforts.

Requirements:

Responsibilities


1. Public Health Program Support

  • Engage travelers and explain the purpose and importance of public health surveillance and monitoring programs.
  • Educate participants on public health initiatives, disease prevention, and health promotion efforts.
  • Collect health-related information following approved procedures and training requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and handling of participant information.

2. Participant Experience

  • Greet travelers with a professional, welcoming, and compassionate demeanor.
  • Answer participant questions regarding public health programs and procedures.
  • Foster trust and confidence through clear communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity when interacting with diverse populations.

3. Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to all public health, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of participant information and protected health information (PHI).
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and biosafety.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.

4. Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with management, healthcare personnel, and public health partners to support operational objectives.
  • Participate in training programs, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.

5. Facility and Operational Support

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), EMT, Phlebotomist, or similar patient-facing healthcare role.
  • Previous experience supporting public health, disease surveillance, screening, testing, vaccination, or community health programs.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, infection prevention, and specimen collection protocols.
  • Experience working in healthcare, laboratory, public health, or airport environments.
  • Bilingual or multilingual language skills.
