Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs detailed fact gathering, data compilation, and report writing on budgets, organizations, personnel staffing, operations, and administrative systems;
  • Studies management methods in order to improve workflow, simplify reporting procedures, or implement cost reductions;
  • nalyzes operating practices, such as record keeping systems, forms control, office layout, suggestion systems, personnel requirements, and performance standards to create new systems or revise established procedures;
  • Coordinates collection and preparation of operating reports, such as time and attendance records, terminations, new hires, transfers, budget expenditures, and statistical records of performance data;
  • Prepares and presents reports including conclusions and recommendations for solution of administrative problems or procedures;
  • Receives requests and complaints from the public concerning administrative actions of the Commission, channels the requests to appropriate officials, follows up on the corrective actions, and sees that replies to the inquiries are given;
  • Prepares, monitors and controls annual budget submissions and provides up-to-date status reports on expenditures, projects and related items;
  • Drafts internal operating policies;
  • Reviews memoranda, reports and similar material for the purpose of summarizing and making recommendations concerning same;
  • Coordinates the schedules of several professional/management individuals and arranges for meetings with outside parties.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of public administration;
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of budgetary preparation and control;
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of data gathering and compilation;
  • bility to write clear concise reports, memoranda, directives and letters;

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of responsible professional or supervisory experience in the field of public administration or business management OR High school diploma and 7 years of responsible professional or supervisory experience in the field of public administration or business management.
