Purpose or role of this position at Morehouse
Gameday Operations Assistants support the execution of athletic events by assisting with logistics, setup, in-game operations, and post-event breakdown at Morehouse home games. This role also includes serving as ushers and greeters to enhance the fan experience and uphold institutional hospitality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Event Setup:
  • Assist with field/court setup: signage, equipment, sponsor activations, and safety barriers
  • Prepare press areas, credential tables, and hospitality zones
  • Set up scoreboards, clocks, and public address systems

In-Game Support:
  • Operate scoreboard, shot clock, or game clock under supervision
  • Monitor crowd flow, assist with gate entry and ticketing
  • Serve as ushers/greeters to welcome guests, provide directions, and answer basic event questions
  • Coordinate with officials and staff to ensure timing and compliance accuracy
  • Respond to logistical issues and assist with real-time problem solving

Post-Event Breakdown:
  • Assist with teardown and secure storage of equipment
  • Help reset venue for next event or practice
  • Report inventory needs or equipment damage
