Tencent IEG's Site Reliability Engineers leverage software engineering skills to help solve complex distributed production live services challenges by actively engaging, mentoring, orchestrating and operating global services across multiple continents and timezones. You will have the opportunity to interface games services at a global scale through multiple cloud deployments, while consistently execute with excellence and consistency.

Role Definition

A member of the Site Reliability Engineer in the Tencent IEG organization will primarily on the execution and operations of multiple games across the globe, with an emphasis on Tencent internal products and or collaborating with studios on future games that are yet to be released.

Responsibilities:

  • Insatiable desire to eliminate toil by building tooling or automating away repetitive tasks or building cloud native solutions that will proactively mitigate problems before they arise.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and on-call support for specific games and or platform services. Members of this rotation will respond to incidents that are critical to business or player issues

  • Contribute to the development of a collection of optimal strategies and procedures for implementing infrastructure as code in the cloud, ensuring secure, dependable, and efficient deployment

  • Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, studios representatives while maintaining a strong working relationship based on trust, respect and empathy.

  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring 1 or 2 engineers, while fostering the growth of the SRE community

Who We Look For

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Production Engineering, SRE, DevOps or similar role

  • Experience with Perforce at an administrative level (Perforce Commit | Brokers | Proxies | Replicas)

  • A problem-oriented mindset that is capable of working on global scalability / reliability problems backwards starting with why.

  • 5+ Years of demonstrated experience in designing and managing scalable production services / solutions

  • 3+ years of experience with building, deploying, scaling and troubleshooting containerized applications in a production environment

  • Understand the importance of well architected cloud architecture framework and SRE principles

  • 5 Years of In-depth knowledge of programing languages like Python, Ruby, Bash, or Golang (not limited to)

  • Demonstrated expertise in proactively identifying and implementing solutions that decrease failures, bridge technical gaps, and increase service health confidence through observability

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation and participate in the technical decision making process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5x developer ecosystem, including DDC, Horde and Preflight

  • In-depth experience developing or maintaining CI / CD pipelines running on Jenkins or Horde

  • Hands on experience optimizing build bottlenecks that impacts developer experience

US-California-Los AngelesThe expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $106,100.00 to $223,100.00 per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Employees hired for this position may be eligible for a sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the Company's 401(k) plan. The Employee is also eligible for up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on the employee's tenure), up to 13 days of holidays throughout the calendar year, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year. Your benefits may be adjusted to reflect your location, employment status, duration of employment with the company, and position level.
