ABOUT THE ROLE

The Security Guard ensures safety and provides surveillance of Consume Cannabis Co. retail facilities by patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance cameras, inspecting buildings (including equipment and access points), and permitting entry into the building. The Security Guard also prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities to management and informing management of violators of state standards and policies set by PTS/Consume Cannabis Co. The Security Guard operates under the General Manager through policies and procedures established by PTS/Consume Cannabis Co. and regulations of state and local governing bodies.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Secure premises and personnel by regularly patrolling property, monitoring surveillance cameras, inspecting the building (including equipment and access points), and permitting entry into the building.
  • Check all doors and windows throughout the facility to ensure they are properly locked throughout the day.
  • Complete morning facility security checks and tasks to ensure that the property is secure prior to store opening including a patrol of the exterior and interior of the building, checking that all doors and windows were properly locked, and confirming that the security system was activated properly and remains active.
  • Complete nightly security checks and tasks to ensure property is secure overnight after closing facility including patrolling the property, checking that all doors and windows are locked, and activating alarm systems.
  • Will be required to be on property ready to begin duties 15 minutes before the scheduled opening of the Consume retail establishment and required to stay on property until departing with the last Consume Manager/Supervisor on duty who closes the store.
  • Notify the Manager or police immediately in an emergency.
  • Obtain help by sounding alarms in emergency situations.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
  • Assists with checking in all visitors including scanning IDs, having visitors sign in/out on the Visitor Log, and distributing Visitor badges.
  • Escort and possibly staying with non-licensed visitors or contractors.
  • Ensure employees are following all policies and procedures while on the property.
  • Maintains continuous visible presence to perform surveillance of guests and employees.
  • Monitors deliveries that will be taken into the dispensary ensuring that all employees and vendors are adhering to state rules and regulations and standard operating procedures set by PTS/Consume Cannabis Co.
  • Maintains accurate records of all security activities in accordance with the state rules and regulations and standards set by PTS/Consume Cannabis Co.
  • Working closely with management and employees to ensure all safety concerns are reported and addressed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.

Must Haves:

Education and Experience:

  • To remain compliant with state law, you must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Two years of experience providing security and surveillance preferred.
