Clinic Director
Lecturer III Non-tenure stream Faculty Position
The Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a Clinic Director of our UNM Psychology Clinic, to begin in July 2026. The UNM Psychology Clinic provides mental health services to the community and professional-level training for students in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. As a generalist in clinical or counseling psychology, the Clinic Director is responsible for the overall administration of the clinic services and programs, the management of day-to-day operations, and overseeing students' educational goals, client care, and the financial sustainability of the Psychology Clinic.
In addition, as a non-tenure stream faculty position at the rank of Lecture III, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach clinical elective courses to our Clinical Psychology doctoral students (not required). Workload is determined by the department Chair and University policies.
Duties include:
Coordinate all requests for services through the Clinic
Provide clinical supervision and training to students in the clinical psychology doctoral program
Develop and oversee external practicum opportunities for students
Train graduate students in using Time2Track for internship
Coordinate contracts with community partners for clinical services, including negotiation of grants and government contracts for behavioral health
Regularly attend the Association of Psychology Training Clinic (APTC) annual conference
Demonstrate a high standard of professional conduct and adherence to ethical and legal standards in the operation of the Clinic
Determine policies and procedures for clinic operations, monitor the budget, establish client fee schedules, and lead fundraising efforts related to Clinic
Supervise the Administrative Assistant and clinic graduate assistants
Participate in clinical staff hiring and conduct performance reviews of clinic staff
Contribute to the educational mission of the Psychology Department
Attend Psychology clinical faculty meetings, attend case conference presentations, and work closely with Psychology clinical faculty
Report to the Director of Clinical Training
On September 19, 2025, an Executive Proclamation was issued wherein, for certain H-1B sponsorships, employers would be required to submit a 100,000 payment in order for such sponsorships to be considered (https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/09/restriction-on-entry-of-certain-nonimmigran... Due to budgetary constraints, the Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico is unable to consider candidates for this position who will require H-1B sponsorship for authorization to work in the United States and whose sponsorship requires submission of this payment as a requirement of sponsorship.
